Ginger Black Sugar Cubes Recipes
Classic Hot Ginger Black Sugar Tea
This is the most classic way of preparing this drink. Simply place a ginger black sugar cube in a mug, add 12 ounces of boiling water and stir until thoroughly dissolved. It can also be prepared on the stovetop using the same water to cube ratio.
Black Sugar Ginger Ale
Pour 2 ounces of the Ginger Black Sugar Syrup in a glass and add 6 ounces cold carbonated water, mix and serve on ice. Of course, feel free to adjust the ratio depending on your preferred sweetness level. (See Ginger Black Sugar Syrup recipe below.)
If you have a soda machine with washable heads, such as the Drinkmate, then you can just make a batch of the classic hot ginger black sugar tea. Let it cool to room temperature and directly carbonate the tea. Add ice and serve.
Ginger Black Sugar Margarita
Ingredients:
2.0 oz Tequila
0.75 oz Lime juice
0.50 oz Ginger Black Sugar Syrup (see recipe below)
0.50 oz Cointreau or any other triple sec
Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well. Strain into a rocks glass with ice. Serve with a lime wedge or slice of crystallized ginger.
Ginger Black Sugar Syrup
Chop the ginger black sugar cube into smaller pieces (1 cube into approximately 9 pieces). Place the pieces in a small pot, add 8 ounces water and stir over medium heat until the cube is thoroughly dissolved. Turn the heat down to medium-low and let the mixture simmer until it reduces to 25% of what it was before (approx. 2 oz). Stir occasionally as needed. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool to room temperature. You can use a few cubes at once to make a larger batch and pour it into a small jar or bottle so you have some Ginger Black Sugar Syrup ready for use at any time. Do not refrigerate.
