Chin Tang Pottery Tea Cup (Cobalt Blue)

$50.00

Chin Tang Pottery is named after its location in a region known since the Qing Dynasty as the “home of a thousand ponds (“chin tang”). The master ceramicist, Mr. Hsia, has honed his craft for the past 40 years while experimenting with new firing and glazing techniques. With this series of cups, he applies a crystalline glaze that is traditionally reserved for porcelain vases to ceramics for everyday use. Fired for 40 to 50 days at extremely high temperatures, the resulting works are each adorned with unique blossoms and petal-like crackled patterns. These exquisite cups are part of a new series with a matte finish.

Dimensions: 3.125” diam. x 2” H.
